Jerry Seratt Obituary

Jerry Lamar Seratt was born January 23, 1938 in Manila Arkansas. He passed away peacefully on August 22, 2018 at the age of 80 in Olympia, WA. Jerry was the 4th of seven children. He and his siblings were raised in California where he met and married his wife Anita Chrisenbery on March 03, 1956. Jerry confessed his belief in Christ at the age of 19 in Riverside, California. With tireless perseverance Jerry served our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ as a good shepherd over the flock for 50 years. From the beginning, he knew that he was set apart to do the work of the ministry. Jerry had a strong sense of “being sent” and knew that he was going to be a builder. In 1967 he moved his family to Alaska to start several church plants with the Native Americans on Kenai Peninsula, the Mideast Interior and the Southeast Island of Ketchikan. Jerry’s life verse can be found in Isaiah 58:12. Jerry was brave in his calling and would boldly say; follow me as I follow Christ. His ministry will be remembered as one of restoring lives and building churches. Jerry was not afraid to go places that others had tried and failed. He was a forerunner with an apostolic anointing to break new ground and lay good foundations for others to build upon. Jerry was ready in season and out. He was willing to go anywhere, at any time, to do anything the Lord had asked of him. Worship was a key part of his life. Jerry loved to play his guitar and sing with the help of his wife and children. Some of his most cherished memories include Anita leading song service with Paula, Karla, and Craig playing the piano and drums. During his lifetime he touched the lives of many people. Jerry was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents James Edward and Effie Seratt, his wife Anita Louise Seratt, and his brothers: Earl, WC, and Kenny Seratt. Cherishing his memory is his children; Paula Glasgow and (Raymond), Karla Sullivan and (Chuck), Craig Seratt and (Melissa). His Grandchildren; Amber White and (Justin), Keith Glasgow, Travis Glasgow, Sarah Rutherford, Katie O’Hagan and (Peter), Billy Olesen, Craig Seratt and (Kristina), Shannon Barker and (Daniel). His siblings; Wayne Seratt (Connie), Wanda Anderson (Dale), and Patricia Rioux (Dwight). Along with many, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
