Sinclair K. Nelson was born 10/23/35 in Seattle and died 1/5/12 at Virginia Mason Hospital of a heart attack. He grew up in Lake City and graduated from Bothell High School in 1954. He married Carolyn Moore 10/1/54 and served four years in the Air Force Reserve. Their first home was in Mountlake Terrace where they lived for six years until they built their home in Shoreline in 1962. They have a daughter, Shari, of Lynnwood, and a granddaughter, Sarah, of Chandler, Arizona. They celebrated their 57th anniversary last October. Clair was a gentleman of quiet dignity and integrity, devoted to and dearly beloved by his family. A prize-winning mechanic, he went to work right out of high school at Bill Pierre Motors where he worked for 19 years. At that time he went to work for the Shoreline School District, maintaining school buses in perfect condition until he retired in January 1988 after 24 years. He expertly restored his grandparents' 1934 Willys before and during his retirement. Predeceased by parents, Stephen and Betty Nelson, a brother and a sister, survivors include his wife Carolyn, daughter Shari Brown, granddaughter Sarah Brown, three sisters, one brother, many nieces and nephews and many wonderful caring friends. Clair had many hobbies, including antique cars and building car models. He was looking forward to the new LeMay antique car museum opening this summer in Tacoma. He loved going to breakfast at the Original Pancake House every Monday in Ballard after swimming laps at the Y and to Kirkland at least twice a month. He loved listening to music! We had season tickets to the 5th Avenue for many years. He volunteered with the Echo Lake Neighborhood Association to help clean up Echo Lake Park every July before the picnic. He helped many people whenever they had car problems. My final goodbye, I'll always love you and I'll never forget you. We've had a wonderful 57 years! Till we meet again.
