Arnold Thomas Thompson May 19, 1928 - April 8, 2014 Arnold "Arnie" Thomas Thompson, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away on April 8, 2014 at Auburn Medical Center. He was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota on May 19, 1928 to Carl and Minnie Thompson and grew up in East Grand Forks, Minnesota, the youngest of three children. He graduated from Central High School in 1946, where he was quarterback of the football team, and also met the love of his life, Dona Mae Ellenson. After high school, he joined the U.S. Army and was stationed at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. Arnie and Dona were married February 10, 1948 in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. After he was discharged from the Army in August 1948, he attended the University of North Dakota where he graduated in June 1952 with a Bachelors Degree in Commerce. They moved to the Seattle area where Arnie worked at the Boeing Company until his retirement in 1986. Arnie and Dona enjoyed many family vacations, including two family cruises to the Caribbean. Arnie was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Dokken in 2003, brother Parnell Thompson in 2009, and his beloved wife, Dona, in 1999, after 51 years of marriage. He is survived by his daughters Connie Bottemiller (Jack) of Prosser, Washington, and Patti Vigoreaux (Donovan) of Kent, Washington, son Thomas Thompson of Federal Way, Washington, grandchildren Jennifer Masuccio (Dean) of Auburn, Washington, Gail Rice (Ryne) of Prosser, Washington and Allan Bottemiller (Jessica) of Kirkland, Washington, and five great-grandchildren. Interment will be at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington. The immediate family will have a private memorial service in the near future.
