Ella Mary LEWIS

Ella Mary Lewis (Mrs. Charles R. Lewis) died peacefully in her home in Seattle on March 10, after a long and full life. Born in Chicago on July 10, 1918, Ella Mary grew up in Decatur Il. She graduated from Millikin University, where she met and married her husband, Chuck, who preceded her in death after 30+ years of marriage. Ella Mary and Chuck eventually made their home in Tucson, Arizona, and Ella Mary thrived in the desert sun and mountain air. She was an avid bridge player and bird watcher, active in Pi Beta Phi, PEO, and a member of Skyline Country Club. Although she loved the desert and her many friends there, Ella Mary moved to Seattle in 2003 to be close to her daughter and family. Ella Mary was beloved by all who knew her, and admired for her adventuresome spirit, her sense of humor, her generosity and her love of life. Ella Mary is survived by her loving family: daughter, Marianne, son-in-law Stephen, grandson, Elliott, an extended family of adoring nieces and nephews, step-brother, James, and her cat, Shadow.
