Jean Anne YEAGER

Jean Anne Yeager, born on October 5, 1954 in Tacoma, WA, unexpectedly passed away on August 8, 2012. The room overflowed with family and the smell of lavender while Celtic music played in the background. Jean Anne was the youngest of six girls, growing up in Tacoma’s Hill Top area. She graduated from Stadium High School in 1972 and received her associate’s degree from Tacoma Community College. Jean’s greatest sacrifice in life was for her children, Corinne (Bruneau) Giles, Angela (Bruneau) Baker, and Travis Lee Powell. She was a single mother who struggled often but worked every day of her life to provide for her children, and provide she did. In 2009 she met Fred Pings, and the two of them started trading visits between Washington, Wisconsin, and everywhere in between. They fell deeply in love, and Fred packed his things and moved west. They were married April 30, 2011, and embarked on many more adventures, including time in Europe and spending every available moment with their grandson, Tanner. Although Jeannie’s life was short, it was full; she met her first grandchild, walked her daughter Angela down the aisle, and watched her son, Travis, graduate high school. Jean Anne is survived by her husband Fred, her three children and grandson Tanner, her five sisters, Mickey, Barbara, Jodi, Bette, Margret and countless friends from the Pierce County Health Department and Lake Bronson. Her life was not long enough for those of us left behind, but she did not miss any part of it. She lived life to the fullest, wild and free. A Celebration of Jeannie's Life will be held at the Fruitland Grange Hall on Friday, October 5th, 2012 at 4:00 PM.
