Joyce CLARK Obituary

Joyce Clark Legacy This past January 18 ,2012 our beloved Joyce left her earthly body here in Kirkland, Washington to be with her Lord and Savior. Though we mourn her passing, we rejoice that the day she longed for--to see Him face to face--has finally come. We will miss her so much. She endured great adversity and pain in her life. Nevertheless she was a joy to be around, an inspiration, and a constant source of love and affection. She contributed so much to every life she touched. Joyce accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of sixteen. After completing high school, she went into evangelistic work preaching all over the United States. She had a special gift of music and also ministered in song all her life. Many people came to faith in Christ through Joyce's words and music that proclaimed the Lord's grace and goodness. She loved the Lord and He heard her voice. Joyce's Life Here on Earth Joyce was born September 11, 1928 and passed away January 18, 2012. Her husbands G.B. McDowell and Ross Clark both preceded her in death. She leaves behind one son, Gayle Douglas quot;Mikequot; McDowell of Texas, two granddaughters, and five great grandchildren. Joyce was the second of seven children born to Joe and Pearl Gering of Ritzville, Washington. Her siblings included Gladys, JoAnn, Gayle, Sidney, Marcine, and Dennis. Dennis went home to be with the Lord less than six months ago. She had twenty nieces and nephews who she showered with love and who likewise loved her and will miss her greatly. She knew how to touch all of our hearts even though we all lived far apart. While she was well and able to travel on her own, she made yearly trips to see her family who meant so much to her. Joyce will be remembered by anyone who knew her and her beautiful contagious smile and sense of humor. She will be remembered most of all for her love of God and His Word. With her physical difficulties, she would always raise one hand toward heaven indicating that's where she was longing to go. The family would like to thank the many friends and relatives who remembered her through so many years with your letters, visits, prayers, and gifts. She looked forward to hearing from each of you, and would respond the best she was able to in her difficult situation. Each and every one of you had a very special place in Joyce's heart. After her passing, her baby sister Marcine found a poem in the last page of her Bible. It was titled Safely Home. Indeed she is. We can't wait to see Joyce again, someday soon! A photocopy of the card with the poem is attached along with some pictures to remember her by.
