Leta PATTERSON Obituary


Leta Mae Patterson died peacefully and entered into the presence of the Lord on September 29th, 2015 in Kent, WA at the age of 83. Leta is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Richard Patterson, her daughters Gale Mengle (Terry), Bonnie Wigginton (Jeff), Becky Bucklen (Paul) and son Mark Patterson (Brenda) and her grandchildren Gaylynn Smith, Grace Sherwood, Katie Wigginton, John Bucklen, Andrew Mengle and Kaitlyn Bowen. Finally, her great grandchildren – Nicky Bucklen, Riley Smith, Jonah Sherwood, Addie Smith, and Miles Sherwood. She is survived by her twin sister Laura Nestoss, brother – Lonnie Herington, and younger sisters Lianne Burfect and Janet Cooke. She is preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Emma Herington. Leta was born on January 27th, 1932 in Spokane, Wa. She graduated from Lewis & Clark High School and Green River Community College where she pursued a career as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Leta was most proud of her role as mother and grandmother. Her children will fondly remember her wonderful lemon meringue pies,chocolate cakes and Sunday dinners. As a Christian, Mom showed all of us children great kindness, patience, and generosity. Leta loved her rose garden and making her home a refuge for all us. She was an active and dedicated church member and a wonderful Junior Church teacher. Leta and Richard met at Liberty Park Baptist Church, where they both became Christians. Proverbs 31:28 - “Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her;” The family would like to thank Mary, Floren, Lilly, Tara and Grandma for the wonderful care of Leta where she resided at Kentridge Elderly Care. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Salvation Army Corps (Church), 720 S Tobin St, Renton, WA 98057 on Saturday, October 24th, 2015 at 2:00pm.
