Mary Elizabeth 'Betty' CURTIS

Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Curtis (nee Gaskill-Brown) went to be with her Lord, Sunday, April 22, 2012. She was 93. Betty was predeceased by her husband of 61 years COL (R) Elmer “Curt” Curtis. Betty was born August 18, 1918 in Swissvale, Pennsylvania. She grew up in Marin County, CA, graduating from the U of Cal at Berkeley in 1942 with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Betty was a faithful member of her church, the perfect Army wife, and a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was a nurse, a teacher of nurses, and the director of nursing at Bethesda home in Hayward, CA. Betty is survived by her children Kathy and Tom, Tom’s wife Barbara, and her grandchildren Adrienne, and her husband Andrew, and Zachary. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2012, in the Fellowship Hall of Covenant Shores on Fortuna Drive, Mercer Island, WA. Contributions to the New Tribes Mission, 1000 E.1st Street, Sanford FL, 32771, are requested in lieu of flowers.
