Shannon Ellen PITT

Shannon Ellen Pitt was born in Seattle on June 24, 1963, the second child of Tony and Sandy Pitt. She, her brother Andy and her parents lived in the Des Moines area throughout Shannon’s childhood years. After graduating from Mount Rainier high school in 1981, Shannon attended Highline Community College on a soccer scholarship. In 1985, Shannon welcomed a daughter, Stephanie (Shannon always called her “junior.”) Shannon was a hard worker in the aerospace field, most recently as a quality assurance inspector employed by Boeing. Shannon was athletic and active. She learned to play golf from her father, loved racquetball and appreciated outdoors and nature. Shannon viewed the world in a witty and unusual way, with a humorous angle that others often missed. She had clever nicknames for everyone she ever knew. She loved to draw cartoons and leave graffiti where you least expected it. Shannon died on February 1, 2012. She is survived by her daughter Stephanie Moa (Jon Wells) by her brother Andy Pitt, nephew Kyle Pitt, uncles Bill Pitt (Patsy) Peter Pitt (Mary Ellen) and Wayne Noren (Sandy), as well as cousins Ted Pitt, April Nelson, Carol Pitt and Jim Pitt. Shannon’s parents Sandy and Tony preceded her in death. Shannon will be deeply missed.
